F-14 Tomcat "Black Bunny"
1970 saw the Tomcat replace the Phantom in the fleet air defense role. The F-14 was given unprecedented long range multiple kill missiles. It is generally agreed that this is one of the finest airplanes in the world. The Navy first requested use of this variable swept wing jet for naval carriers. Maximum speed for the F-14 is mach 2.31 mph. Various armaments including cannons and sidewinder missiles are used on the F-14. (C Series--Blue Box)
