The Dennis J. Buckley was a Gearing class DD converted to a Radar Picket Destroyer (DDR). The kit can be built as a WW II ship or a later version used in the 1950's.
The Blue Water Navy kit has both early and late style radar's. Missing from the Gearing kit (BN-35003) is the torpedo bank. Added chevalier3.jpg (187579 bytes) are the aft tripod mast and third 40mm gun on the aft deckhouse. This kit measures 13.25 inches long. It is comprised of a single resin upper hull, a single piece lower hull (build either full hull or waterline), resin turrets, stacks and platforms. Small parts are cast in fine pewter for extra strength, and a photo-etched brass sheet completes the kit with over 70 parts.
