The 99th Aero Squadron was an Observation unit attached to the 5th Corps on 12 June 1918. Its missions were in Toul Sector, St. Mihiel and the Agrgonne-Meuse 1st and 2nd offensives. It fought in 18 battles, had 3 victories and 6 killed, 7 wounded. The squadron was disbanded on 13 February 1919. There insignia was cut out from a Buffalo Nickel. This reproduction is also made from a correct period nickel.
