XB-70 Valkyrie First Flights

It was the worlds largest experimental Aircraft, capable of flight at speeds of three times the speed of sound at altitudes of 70,000 ft. The aircraft was used to collect in-flight information for use in the design of future military and civilian supersonic aircraft. It was also intended as a replacement for the Boeing B-52, and as such was developed as the first Mach 3 Strategic Bomber for the USAF. However, a change of policy led to its cancellation in favor of inter-continental missiles so, it was decided to limit the aircrafts mission to flight research.
